Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Chen Huagui went to see Hu Dongxiang, Head of the Shengzhen Township's "610 Office" on October 5, 2004 to appeal for Falun Gong and ask for his identification card to be returned. Instead, he received a severe beating in which three of his front teeth were knocked out and his eyes were bruised.
