In June,2002,the Governor of the State of Iowa, Mr. Thomas Vilsack, proclaimed the week of June 23 to June 29, 2002 as Falun Dafa Week to honor Falun Dafa. On June 22, practitioners from Iowa and nearby areas got together in front of the State Government Office building in Des Moines, Iowa's capital, to hold celebrations and demonstrate Falun Gong exercises. A photo exhibition "Journey of Falun Dafa" was held at the same time.
